Staying at this hotel was a unique experience. The room, representing Matera town, felt cosy and comfortable despite its origins as a storage room for the nearby 'rock church. ' The location in amazing Matera made exploring the Sassi a breeze, with great access to all parts of the UNESCO site. The service was helpful and attentive, providing us with valuable insights to maximize our time in the city. The dining experience was truly wonderful, especially enjoying a true international feast in the sunshine on the terrace overlooking the city.

Staying in the historic building in a fabulous part of town felt like living in a part of the old Abbots' rooms in a cave. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, suggesting some amazing local restaurants with exceptional food. The beautiful breakfast offered a wide selection of local products, and the unbelievable view over Matera from the terrace where I had breakfast made me eager to come back and recommend it to others.
